The following outlines the process of buying a brand from Dynabrands and receiving all brand package asset:
Confirmation of Sale. Within a few minutes of purchasing a brand on the Dynabrands site, you’ll receive an email from us confirming the sale.
Confirmation of Registrar & Administrator. As soon as we confirm receipt of funds (usually within 24 hours of your order), we will send you an email asking you to confirm the following two important bits of information:
The name of your registrar. You must have an account at a domain name registrar (i.e. GoDaddy, Uniregistry etc) in order to take receipt of your new domain name. There are hundreds of fine registrars out there from which you can choose (at Dynabrands, we use GoDaddy.com and think they're a solid choice). If you don’t have a registrar and need help obtaining one for your Dynabrands purchase, let us know and we can assist you.
The Administrative Contact email address you have given to your registrar. This will be you or someone at your organization. All emails regarding the transfer will go to the Administrative Contact, so it’s important we have an accurate address.
Initiation of Transfer. Once we have confirmed the above information, we will email you a link to the page at your registrar on which you must enter the name of your new domain and request transfer to your account (as the owner of the destination account, you must initiate this request). This same email will include a transfer authorization code that you can give to your registrar if they request it.
Approval of Transfer. Your registrar will request (and Dynabrands will provide) approval to transfer the domain name from our account to yours.
Sending of Logo Files. Immediately after approving the transfer request, we will email you all logo files associated with the brand you have purchased.
Processing of Transfer. The approved transfer now just needs time to work its way through the domain name system. This typically takes 3-5 days but can take a few days longer in some instances.
Done! Once we receive notice that the transfer process is complete, we will send you one final email letting you know (you will have likely already received notice of this from your registrar but we'll close the loop with you just the same). At this point your new domain name will be 100% in your control and Dynabrands will no longer have any association with it. You can use your registrar’s domain settings to point your new address to a website you already have (or can do so with one you develop in the future).
A Note on Alternate Domains: It should be mentioned here that the above transfer process will also need to happen for each free alternate domain in your brand package of which you want to take ownership (your brand package may or may not include alternate domains. See info on Alternate Domains on our FAQ page). Each domain name requires its own separate transfer request/process but these can all be under way simultaneously. If you have any questions about this, let us know and we’ll talk you through it.
